Google My Business discontinues toll free phone support

Some people will say that the best feature about Google My Business would be the ability to dial a phone number and speak to a Google representative about your google listing. This means that if there was ever a problem with the way your business was showing up from services such as Google Search or Google Maps, someone at Google could potentially help you.

Unfortunately this feature is now inaccessible. This means that you can no longer call in to google’s helpline and get help from someone working there.

We’ve removed toll free customer support numbers from the Google My Business homepage. If you call one of the existing numbers, you’ll be directed to the Google My Business Help Center for a more personalized and efficient help experience. You’ll still be able to request a toll free call from a support specialist under the “Contact Us” options in the Google My Business Help Center

Therefore if you were to call any numbers that are still listed or saved in your contacts then you will be redirected to Google My Business Help Center. Next, you’ll have to list a short URL, say goodbye and hang up on you. You won’t be able to speak to anyone over the phone but instead fill out a form giving your information or requesting a call back.

Why should we care? The phone number has been necessary in helping google’s customers fix critical issues involved with their businesses. For example, when incorrect information would show on people’s business page someone from google would help them directly. Because of this, the response time will take much longer since you won’t be speaking to anyone immediately.

The industry will soon come up with something to make it adaptable to everyone using the service.
